Another great offering from a writer who really knows how reach out and connect with the common man. Dave is a Regular Guy, and his insights into the funny, and oft-ridiculous, side of us males really reaches the soul. And more directly, the funny bone. Guys, pick this up!
Dave doesn't disappoint in this book. Anyone who has any sort of relationship with a guy should buy and read it. If you're already a Dave Barry fan, you won't be disappointed. If you're not a Dave Barry fan, you will be once you've read this.
This is one of the funniest books you will ever read. He has guys pegged - and by default - women as well. I love his writing style. He makes the ridiculous seem almost plausible. I know, I know. Everyone says you want be able to put this book down - but dimes to doughnuts - you will NOT be able to put this book down. Women - this is a MUST read! You will finally be able to understand why he never answers that question "What are you thinking about?"
I love Dave Barry's writing. This one is short and sweet, the perfect size. He talks about the difference between men, boys, and the topic of the book guys! He really puts down the male, and being one myself, I can not blame him. He discusses the simple-minded-ness of guys and their stupidity. For instance, he talks about a true story where a guy siphons off gasoline with a vacuum cleaner (just picture the result of such stupidity). Of course he picks the extremes of guys, but bashes the whole gender for acting like these few. It is absolutely hilarious. This was my second favorite Dave Barry book, right next to Dave Barry's Money Secrets.
This is the ultimate laugh out loud guy book. Fabulous situations hat we all have found ourselves in a but never had the insight to laugh about it. I would be reading in bed and my wife would say," your keeping me up laughing so much, read me what's so funny".
I would read with tears running down my face and she would say , "I don't get it". That's the point of the book. It is a guy thing. I have given about 12 copies of this book to guys...they love it, except for one who thinks he is too sophisticated to laugh out loud.
For those of us who love his writing, this is vintage Dave Barry. It is well written, hilarious and full of witty observations. If you love a good funny book, this is for you!
This is the funniest book I have ever read in my life. My tastes run more to wry humor, but nobody--not even David Sedaris-- can make me laugh out loud like Dave Barry, and this is his very funniest book. If you know someone who is a little sad, buy him/her this book. You can't help but laugh, you just can't.
